ICAA and FHCA conferences to include Active Living training, presentations

Michele Guerra, Active Living Partners director, will introduce practical ways to help inactive adults become and stay physically active in two upcoming presentations in Orlando, Florida.
  • “Programs to Get The Sedentary Moving” on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the Florida Health Club Association (FHCA) conference
  • “Helping Sedentary People Get Moving” on Friday, November 12, 2004 at the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) conference
Many inactive people indicate that they would like to become more physically active but have a hard time getting started. Since inactive people have a different set of beliefs and experiences surrounding physical activity, health and fitness professionals need to use a unique approach to reach them. These sessions will present inventive ways to get inactive adults up and moving ...and enjoying it!

Attendees at the sessions will
  • learn what inactive people think about physical activity;
  • discover the unique needs that inactive people have when it comes to physical activity;
  • uncover ways to attract inactive people to your facility, practice, or program;
  • explore creative programming that will help inactive people become and stay physically active.
In addition to the presentations, Guerra will cohost an Active Living facilitator workshop on Saturday, November 13. The workshop is open to any organizations that license and complete the online facilitator training for the Active Living Every Day course.
