Active for Life Featured in Cincinnati-Area TV story

The Council on Aging of Southwest Ohio, in partnership with the Hamilton County General Health District, has offered Active Living Every Day classes for the past four years as part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant-funded Active for Life program. Cincinnati’s CBS affiliate TV station WKRC recently aired a story, “Fitting fitness into your life,” which featured Active for Life instructor Karen Schwamberger.

Six Active Living Every Day facilitators currently teach classes through the Council on Aging. Over the past three years, 679 participants have completed the Active Living Every Day program here. In 2006, the final year of the grant, they are piloting a 12-week program. If proven effective, the shortened course may become available for other Active Living Every Day providers.
