Each week in
the online study guide includes these components:
- Check In, where you have a chance to check in and see how you did with the
previous week's material.
- Overview, where you preview the current week's activities.
- Activities, the core of the session, where you will learn new skills and complete
online activities in the study guide and in My Journal. My Journal is an online journal that you will personalize
with your physical activity goals, plans, and accomplishments.
- Test Your Knowledge, a five-question quiz to test your knowledge of the week's
material. You won't be graded! The quiz is simply a way to make sure you learned the main points of the week.
- Track Your Progress, where you will have a chance to check off your accomplishments
for the week and return to My Journal to track your thoughts about physical activity and your minutes of physical
activity for the week.
- This Week's Links, where you will find links to external Web sites and lists
of books that provide more information about the topics covered during the week. You can explore as many or as
few of these resources as you like.
Some weeks also include these components:
- Readiness to Change. During the 20-week course, you will have several opportunities
to determine how ready you are to change to a more active lifestyle. You can fill out the Readiness to Change questionnaire
at any time during the course, but we provide formal opportunities for you to do so in weeks 2, 5, 9, 13, and 17.
- Information You Can Use, where you will find all kinds of information on health
and fitness topics.
