My Journal
Welcome to My Journal!
This online journal functions much as a paper journal does. Using My Journal, you can complete activities as you
work through the Active Living Every Day course. The activities will help you
- keep track of your physical activity goals, thoughts, plans, and achievements, and
- learn the skills you need to become and stay physically active.
The activities in My Journal are grouped under the tabs you see to the right. For example, there are three separate
activities in the My Story section of My Journal. You can link to each of these activities by clicking on the My
Story tab.
Using My Journal with the Active Living Every Day Course
If you are enrolled in the Active Living Every Day course and are using the online study guide, the study
guide will link you directly to activities in My Journal at appropriate points in the course. The online study
guide includes information that will prepare you to complete the activities in My Journal. The online study guide
also provides examples of how other participants have filled out forms and completed My Journal activities.
My Favorites
You may want to return to specific activities in My Journal many times. You can use the My Favorites section to
store a list of your favorite My Journal activities. When you click on the My Favorites tab, you will notice that
we have pre-selected links to activities in My Journal that past participants have found to be particularly helpful.
You can customize the My Favorites list with your own favorite activities at any time and as many times as you
like.
My Progress
The My Progress section of My Journal provides easy-to-read reports on your progress toward becoming and remaining
active. Specifically, the My Progress section provides the following progress reports.
- Number of steps, which you can record using the activity called Setting Step Goals (My Tracking Forms tab)
- Minutes of physical activity, which you can record using the activity called Tracking My Physical Activity
(My Tracking Forms tab)
- Thoughts about physical activity, which you can record using the activity called Tracking My Thoughts (My Tracking
Forms tab)
- Results of your walk tests, which you can record using the activity called Taking a Walk Test (My Physical
Activity Tests tab)
- Changes in your resting heart rate over time, which you can record using the activity called My Heart-Rate
Tracker (My Physical Activity Tests tab)
After you've worked through some of these activities in My Journal, you can start using the reports on the My
Progress tab to chart how you're doing.
Using My Journal After You Complete the Course
Even after you've completed the Active Living Every Day course, you can continue to use My Journal to help
you stay on track, recover from lapses, and set new physical activity and health-related goals. You can use My
Journal for one year free of charge after you first log on to the Active Living program. After the first year,
you can renew your access to My Journal for just $25 a year. Details about renewal are available on the Active
Living Partners Web site.
Getting Started
Click on any tab to the right to get started.
- If you have questions, click on the Help tab.
- For a list of all the activities in My Journal, click on the Index tab.
- To return to the Active Living Partners Web site, click on the Active Living Partners logo on any page.
- To close My Journal, click on the Close Journal button on any page.
